Onlays

Soins dentaires

  • Conventional dental fillings over time become discoloured and do not fit as well. The fillings have to be replaced regularly.

An onlay will seal the tooth and ensure maximum colour stability: this is the best type of filling and the one that lasts longest.

  • An amalgam is a filling that ages, oxidizes, and releasing mercury. Mercury can be toxic for the body, binding to the kidneys, hair and nails, and brain tissue. Although this material was widely used before, it is no longer used today. The amalgam and the mercury can be removed gradually using appropriate medication, if the patient so wishes. The tooth is then protected and an impression is taken.

A ceramic or specific resin onlay is then manufactured by the laboratory and stuck on to the tooth
